Elton Donald’s entire professional life has been shaped by Kerr Design Build, literally from the ground up.
He joined the company while still in high school, spending his Grade 10 summer on job sites painting basements and hauling debris. From those early days, Elton absorbed the company’s core values by working alongside seasoned tradespeople who took the time to teach, mentor, and instill in him a deep respect for craftsmanship and integrity.
Over the years, Elton rose through the ranks, becoming a leader who not only understands the business from every angle but lives and breathes its founding principles.
On June 1, 2025, he officially became the new owner of Kerr Design Build, taking the reins from founder Doug Kerr.
“As I step into the role of owner,” Elton says, “I want to share the heart of who we are and why I’m so proud to lead this company into its next chapter.”
For Elton, Kerr Design Build is more than a design-build firm. It’s a place where “quality is built and trust is earned,” the company motto. That belief guides every project, whether it’s designing a dream living space or crawling into a cobwebbed crawlspace to fix hidden rot. “We show up with one purpose,” he says, “to serve you fully and do it right.”

Under his direction, Kerr continues to prioritize relationships over transactions. “My job isn’t to sell anything,” Elton often says. “It’s to arm people with the right information so they can make the best decisions for themselves.”
