Leadership Rooted in Real Experience
Elton Donald’s career in the Vancouver construction industry started the way the best ones do — not in a boardroom, but on a job site. He joined Kerr Design Build in high school, spending his Grade 10 summer painting basements and hauling debris alongside seasoned tradespeople who mentored him on craftsmanship, safety, and what it means to do the job right.
Over two decades, he rose through every level of the company — learning custom home construction, heritage home renovations, the design-build process, and the project management systems that make Kerr’s work reliable and repeatable.
On June 1, 2025, Elton officially became owner of Kerr Design Build, taking the reins from founder Doug Kerr and continuing a 30-year legacy of award-winning design-build work across Metro Vancouver.

Elton’s first day at Kerr was Grade 10 — painting basements, hauling debris, learning from tradespeople who took the time to teach. He absorbed the craft, the culture, and the standards that still define the company today.
Over two decades, he worked his way through every part of the business — job sites, project management, client relationships, and leadership. By the time he became owner on June 1, 2025, there wasn’t a corner of Kerr he hadn’t worked inside of.
