“We have just completed a major renovation with Kerr Design for our house in West Van, with full renovation of 4000sf+ existing footage and a second storey addition of ~900 sf with extra bedrooms and a family room. Included in the project is also landscaping and paving a long driveway with retaining wall and yard leveling.
Overall, we are very satisfied with the end product and the house looks beautiful. The Kerr team has managed to keep the process smooth for us, from the moment we met Elton, the owner, through to planning and design meetings with designers Nisha and Jaycie and onto the main construction and execution with Vincent and Evan, the experience has been terrific and worthy of the trust we placed in them. We are not just impressed by the design and asthetics but also by the focus and attention to detail in the construction phase. Importantly, Elton and his team has been respectful of our set budget and strived to keep within it whilst keeping options open to us to consider when extra $ maybe worth spending.
We were impressed too with all the trades that Kerr engaged…electrical, plumbing, landscaping etc…all of whom have worked with Kerr for years and adhered to the same high standards that Kerr is used to, and guided by close and thorough supervision from Vincent as our site manager. Individually, we were grateful to a number of people dedicated to our project:
Vincent was our site manager and showed full dedication and attention to every detail to ensure quality. Great advisor along the way as options come up, and was a true partner in our project. Evan was the project manager and was a great coordinator with trades and overall tracking of project timing and costs, providing full transparency. Nisha and Jaycie as our designers made some excellent design suggestions and choices and picked fixtures that pleasantly surprised us, with Ximena providing excellent technical support.. We were also thankful to Daniel, Andreas and Spencer for site support.
Lastly, Kerr under Elton and his partner Ryoko has proven itself that it can deliver top quality at a reasonable cost for our large reno project. Whilst completion did slip, the delay was manageable given the large size of our project”

Kerr took into account our tastes and our traditional home and helped us make the right choices and avoid costly mistakes.
We also wanted to build a bench seat in our kitchen. We could not find anyone who wanted to do such a small job and were fortunate that Kerr was also able to provide us with the trades to do the job.

“We had an unusual project: because of landscaping changes by the previous owners of our heritage house, we needed to add about 18 inches to the foundation under a portion of the wall under our front porch. Kerr came by a few days after our request for a quote, quoted accurately, and started work within 10 days of us signing the straightforward contract. The work was done within three weeks of the start. We also added some extra work which was handled as a change request. 1) The work started remarkably soon after signing the contract. 2) The work was completed on budget. 3) The work completed on schedule. 4) We were able to openly discuss how to deal with some more difficult work and come to reasonable agreement on how to proceed. 5) The quality was OK, but note that we are quite fussy. We felt we had to stay on top of things to make sure things were done to our satisfaction. Net net: Without question, we would use them again and can strongly recommend them.”

“I approached Elton Donald with an initial design of an update to the first floor of my home; kitchen/dining/open living room and powder room. The Kerr team of Elton, Dave & Mark, had designed, removed, and added a new deck to my home, 4 years prior, so I had complete confidence in approaching them for my renovation.
Nisha, our designer, took my initial concept, and worked with me to develop the detailed design, source subtrades, and keep to the budget. The 3D renderings were a great addition to the visualization of the project! Mark, so “graciously” confirmed he would work with me again, and with his site manager, Nelson! As I continued to live & work in the home, great care was taken to seal & protect the balance of the home.
I can not say enough on the quality of work , and ensuring high standards were met by all the subtrades. When there was an issue, or problem, the Kerr team immediately worked with me to resolve to my satisfaction. Nelson did an excellent job in keeping the project running smoothly, and was responsive and proactive to all my questions. His communication was excellent in keeping me informed daily of all trades coming and going …..even while on holidays!!! Thank you Mark and Nelson, for your care and personal attention, to making my renovation a huge success!!
