Adanac St.
A young professional working couple came to us seeking a full-service design and build for their 1907 character home.
We rose to the challenge and found the best layout for their space. The kitchen had been renovated at some point, and an old back porch was incorporated into the home. We peeled back the layers and opened the space to create an open kitchen and dining room. Their previous dining room turned into their home office with a seating area, perfect for their little pooch, Lizzie, to guard the people passing outside on the sidewalk. The bathroom was relocated to a more central location, and a new set of stairs was built into the basement.
The intention was to allow the home not to feel renovated, so details such as the wood trim were meticulously matched in new areas, and their leaded glass dining room doors inspired a new transom design. We duplicated a brick detail in the kitchen backsplash that was found in their living room and saved old cut glass knobs for re-installation on new closet doors.
