Kerr Design Build Team Celebrates Christmas Season & Client Service

This past Sunday marked a special occasion for the teams at Kerr Design Build and our sister company, Absolute Roof Solutions, as we gathered for our annual Christmas celebration. This year’s event was held at the charming Milltown Bar & Grill, a venue that perfectly encapsulates the warmth and joy of the holiday season. Nestled on Richmond Island, the bar offered a rustic and intimate setting, with views of the Milltown marina and the bustling main runway of YVR across the channel.

The gathering was a vibrant mix of about 50 staff members and guests, all coming together to celebrate the year’s successes and the joy of the season. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, lively conversations, and a shared sense of camaraderie that defines our companies.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of awards by Doug Kerr, the founder of both companies. In a heartfelt speech, Doug emphasized the commitment of both companies to excellence in client care and service. He then honored several staff members who had exemplified these values throughout the year.

These were:

  • Mark Austin, a highly efficient project manager known for his attention to detail and exceptional leadership skills.
  • Nelson Szeto, one of our site supervisors, whose dedication and hard work have been instrumental in driving numerous successful projects.
  • Zaineb Al-Saffar, our creative and innovative senior interior designer whose contributions have significantly enhanced our design aesthetics, and,
  • David Trumble, an ARS technician whose technical expertise and problem-solving skills has received accolades from many satisfied clients.

The celebration also included two exciting door prizes, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. Luck was in the air for the ARS team, as both prizes were won by Ken Lillejord and Colby Piche, adding an extra layer of joy to the evening.

The Milltown Bar & Grill, with its cozy ambiance, proved to be the perfect backdrop for the gathering. The evening was not just a celebration of the festive season but also a testament to the strength and unity of our teams. As we shared stories, enjoyed good food, and toasted to the successes of the past year, it was clear that the spirit of the holidays was truly in the air.
