Urban Harmony
LUXURY condo RENOVATION · OLYMPIC VILLAGE, VANCOUVER, BC
A full luxury condo renovation in one of Vancouver’s most prestigious buildings — transforming a beautiful but dysfunctional space into something effortless, considered, and deeply livable. Georgie Awards Finalist, Best Condo Residential Renovation.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
A Luxury Condo Renovation Done Right — The Second Time
This two-storey luxury townhome in Olympic Village was brand new — beautifully appointed, but fundamentally broken in the way it lived. The client, a family of four with exacting standards, had already invested significantly with a well-regarded, award-winning interior design firm and received nothing tangible in return.
Leo Chester was brought in to deliver what the previous process had failed to provide: a clear-eyed diagnosis and a confident solution. The result is a full luxury condo renovation of approximately 3,000 sq ft — reimagined from the ground up around how a discerning family actually lives. It went on to become a Georgie Awards Finalist for Best Condo Residential Renovation.

One Decisive Move That Changed Everything
The core problem was circulation. The main floor’s open-plan kitchen, living, and dining simply could not accommodate all three functions — the space worked against itself, and no amount of styling or soft furnishing could fix what was fundamentally a planning failure.
Leo’s solution was a single confident structural insight: stop trying to fit three separate functions into a space that couldn’t hold them, and instead combine two into one. By growing the kitchen island and morphing it into an L-shape, dining and kitchen merged into a single, sculptural form — freeing the floor to breathe, unlocking circulation, and turning the practical heart of the home into the most dramatic room in the house.
One move. Everything changed.
The Details That Define Urban Harmony
The L-Shaped Island The standout of the entire luxury condo renovation — and rightly so. A jaw-dropping L-shaped stone-clad island with a custom cantilevered banquette, structurally supported by hidden steel brackets, turns the kitchen into sculpture. The monolithic stone-slab aesthetic gives the space its weight and drama. A five-foot workstation sink doubles as a display and entertaining centrepiece — the kind of detail that distinguishes a genuinely designed interior from a dressed-up developer spec.
Built-In Study Spaces & Reading Nooks For a client who values both refined entertaining and quiet retreat, the built-in study areas and reading nooks give the home its quieter moments of delight — spaces to withdraw, to read, to think. Bespoke joinery ties these moments together throughout, keeping the luxurious open spaces calm and uncluttered.
Timber & Stone Throughout Rich, warm timber fluted and slatted feature walls bring tactile depth and a sense of crafted luxury across both floors, softened by recessed cove lighting that makes the millwork glow. Monolithic stone cladding on the cantilevered cabinetry gives the main floor its drama. Lighter wood flooring throughout replaced the developer’s original darker finish — transforming the brightness and warmth of every space.
Warm, Considered, Genuinely Luxurious
Every finish in this Vancouver luxury condo renovation was selected with restraint and conviction. Warm timber fluted and slatted panelling runs from the kitchen through the living areas — a continuous, tactile thread that connects every space. Monolithic stone slabs and stone cladding give the island and cantilevered cabinetry their sculptural weight.
Recessed cove lighting makes the millwork glow without competing with it. Custom-stained woodwork, carefully matched by local artisans, ensures seamless visual integration between every timber element. The result reads as genuinely high-end — not because of excess, but because of discipline.
