With 20 years of experience in residential design and construction across Greater Vancouver, Steven Butler helps homeowners transform ideas into homes that are functional, beautiful, and genuinely built for real life. His expertise spans custom homes, major renovations, home additions, laneway homes, multiplex and multi-unit conversions, and complex permitting projects throughout Vancouver.
Steven holds a Bachelor and Master of Design with a focus on the built environment, a Diploma of Applied Science in Technical Design and Development, and is registered as a Building Designer in British Columbia. That combination of design education, technical training, and nearly two decades of hands-on experience informs every project he leads at Kerr Design Build.
Working within Kerr Design Build’s integrated design-build process, Steven brings design vision, technical expertise, and construction knowledge together — ensuring every project is thoughtfully planned, well-coordinated, and ready to build.

Steven’s strengths include residential design strategy, space planning, technical detailing, construction documentation, permit coordination, and problem-solving. He is particularly passionate about projects that require creative thinking to solve complex design, zoning, or site challenges.

How Steven Works With Vancouver Homeowners
